Axie Infinity in its Origin version comes to Android devices

The Axie Infinity video game, based on non-fungible tokens (NFTs), after releasing a version of the game called Origin, has entered a new stage.

Players can now participate in Origin from any mobile device that has the Android operating system, it is not yet available for Apple’s iOS. “Today, we have taken another step towards our full global launch,” Sky Mavis, the game’s creator, said in a statement.

Accessing the Android version is done through a mobile APK, that is, it will be possible to download mobile devices separately and not by Google Play that allows a massive download. The reason for doing so, is ensuring servers have enough capacity to support millions of players, as reported by Criptonews.

When the mobile and desktop version are established is when the rewards will be incorporated into SLP, Sky Mavis explained.

With Origin now on Android, the company it will include token rewards, rune/amulet creation NFT and the first qualifying season of Origin with prizes in AXS, one of the reward tokens of the video game.

Additionally, they announced that, when starting the game on a mobile device, users will receive three Axies for free.

Changes in the game

The Singapore-based company announced that the NFT video game was updated and underwent some changes to improve its quality.

Among the announced improvements are the 16 aspects of the interface update of the player.

All status effects and runes will be activated simultaneously and they added a “Full HD Graphic” option in the game settings.

It is important to note that Axie Infinity: Origin, continues to be a game which is in an early access testing phase. It started solely to be played through Mavis Hub, a desktop version.

The goal of making an early release is to identify errors that may arise as players interact with the video game and that way collect feedback from the community to be able to modify and make improvements before the global launch.

A new push for NFT games?

Although the NFT market has suffered a sharp drop in its sales since September last year, it is expected that it will soon take on a new momentum.

According to a report published by the research company MarketsandMarket and reported by CriptoNeticias, the NFT market indicates that corporations, the metaverse and communities growing around blockchain games, they will play a key role in the development and growth of the industry.
